Ingredients

  • 24 green onions, trimmed and coarsely chopped

  • 2 tablespoon olive oil

  • Kosher salt

  • 1 8 ounce package cream cheese, cut up and softened

  • 1 8 ounce carton sour cream

  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Place green onions in a shallow baking pan. Drizzle with oil. Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon salt; toss to coat. Spread in an even layer. Roast 15 to 20 minutes or until softened and browned in spots, stirring once. Let cool.

  2. Transfer onions to a food processor. Add cream cheese, sour cream, lemon zest and juice, and 1/2 teaspoon salt; process until smooth. Or finely chop the onions; stir into remaining ingredients. Season to taste. Makes 2 1/2 cups. Serves 8 to 10.
